Common questions
How do I use Gnock?
Pick a tempo with the slider (or tap the ± buttons, or use Tap Tempo), choose a time signature, and hit START. Bob keeps time with you. Two taps and you're playing.
The click plays even with my phone on silent. Is that a bug?
That's intentional — like most metronome apps, Gnock treats the click as media audio (the same category as music), so the Ring/Silent switch doesn't mute it. Use the volume buttons to control loudness, or STOP to silence it.
Does Gnock keep playing in the background?
No — Gnock is designed to stop when you leave the app or lock the screen, and to pick up fresh when you return. Tap START and you're back in time.
What's the difference between Garden and Variety mode?
Garden is the classic, calm metronome. Variety gives every time signature its own animation — try them all, some have surprises.
How do I change the click sound, subdivisions, or accents?
Tap the gear button to open The Shed — sounds, subdivisions, trainers, and more live there. Accents are edited by tapping the beat shapes above Bob while you play.
Does Gnock collect my data?
